Though I have had no ‘formal’ art training I independently studied the artistic expression of Cultures past and present. For me personally art has been and is for the most part, an exploration into the human condition both positive and negative. The actual process of exploring ideas no matter where they come from is for me something I feel I have to do rather than something I want to do. I make the distinction between have to do and want because for me there is a difference in that since I was a small child I in one form or another explore the making of things and it was not done consciously. The analogy I sometimes make, is that the creative process is no unlike the ‘Falling in Love’ experience, in that it takes you rather than you willfully taking it.
