CINDY HICKOK

Cindy Hickok uses the freehand sewing machine as a paintbrush to render amazingly precise and humorous images.  She ingeniously borrows from the Masters to guide the viewer through an entertaining tour of art history.  Her abilities are second to none while her sense of humor thoroughly enhances the experience of each piece.  The Masterpiece is truly redefined by her needle and thread.

A Tongue-in-cheek look at some of the excesses of our society today. Depicted from the cherry-on-top down are: Pie ala mode (double dip with chocolate sauce, whipped cream); diamond wristwatch; telephones for each ear; gauge on “full” (gas? Speed? Weight? Love?); Speakers, both woofer and tweeter; Big lounge chair, Remote control, Room-size television, with show of patriotism; Super-size double mocha latte; Cash; SUV, with seasonal decoration; French-fry mountain; Triple bacon cheeseburger
