WENDY HUHN

Wendy Huhn’s art quilts are amusing, whimsical and sometimes puzzeling compilations of her thoughts. Since childhood, she has cut out paper dolls from magazines and reassembled the pieces to create her own dolls. It is the same motivation that guides her to assemble her art quilts. Using a myriad of techniques such as embroidery, stamping and xylene transfers, she constructs conversations.  The quilt is Wendy’s way of telling a story. Her current inspiration is relationships punctuated with her continuing interest in gender issues and the ever changing place of women in traditional and contemporary American Society.
